To take this course you must have a Provisional Motorcycle Licence and to validate this you must complete CBT. On completion of the course your CBT certificate will be valid for two years from the date of issue. Once your CBT certificate expires you must either retake CBT or pass the practical motorcycle test. Car drivers who pass their Practical Driving Test after February 2001 must now complete CBT before riding a moped.
CBT is conducted at our Manston & Barham Canterbury training centres 7 days a week and take one day to complete. It is essential that have a good knowledge of the Highway Code before attending the course. The course comprises classroom work, off road riding followed by a road ride with your instructor in radio contact.
This includes the use of a motorcycle, helmet, jacket, gloves and bike-to-bike intercom. You must bring your *Drivers Licence* with you, we cannot start the course without sight of this. It is a course requirement that you are able to read a number plate, in good daylight, containing letters and figures 79.4mm high, from a distance of 20.5 metres whilst wearing your normal glasses or contact lenses if required. You will need to wear suitable strong boots or shoes and we suggest you bring a packed lunch and drink with you.
